How to Measure Your Pet: Neck, Chest, Back
Three measurements, one tape, two minutes. Plus what to do between sizes.
Good fit starts with good measurements. You only need a soft tape and a few treats.
Neck girth
Wrap the tape around the widest part of the neck, where a collar would sit. Add nothing; just leave two fingers of room.
Chest girth
Measure around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs. This is the most important measurement for apparel.
Back length
Measure from the base of the neck to the base of the tail, with your pet standing.
Between sizes?
Choose the larger size, especially for breeds with thick coats. Use our size guide page to compare.
